Globetrotting: Barcelona, Spain
You thought it would be Rome, or perhaps Berlin or New York, didn't you? Well Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in the world; home of the famous Sagrada Familia by Gaudi, and host to a wonderful and rich culture, amazing architecture, and delicious cuisine! Travel with us in this final segment in our world tour together as we walk the streets of Barcelona with Pat, and her final amazing block for this BOM. But first, feel free to download the pattern and if you missed it, the materials list (see the download link below).

Block Nine
Our last block is for Barcelona Spain! I am a traveling girl and you can see that in my 'GLOBEtrotting' adventures I go far and wide. There are not enough blocks in this quilt for every city I want to visit. So even though I lived in Europe for 8 years, we never got to Spain. Barcelona is where I'll go first! Guell Park is incredible. The tiles work I see makes me giddy with excitement.

Inspiration from the City of Dreams; Barcelona, Spain

My block has a pinwheel variation in the middle, inspired by.. can you guess? TILES! And the buildings are incredible. I so want to see inside these buildings, are they are wild as the outside?

Next Month is the corners, they are all the same, and the sizes for the setting! Remember to watch Debby Brown's videos for ways to quilt yours, she has incredible ideas!

And... there will be a 2015 project.. I'm sketching and working on the 'Theme'.. it will be something new and fun!

Photos are by my very good friend Brenda Bartholic who was in Barcelona. She taught me to much about how to be creative, love you Brenda! ALSO click over to my blog post and I've got more photos to share!

Above are the two blocks, the blue and white is with Clothworks fabric Everything Blue. The Red and Grey is my Bobbins and Bits from from Moda.

I highly recommend that with dark/light quilts you prewash your fabric. I don't want any tears later when you wash that quilt and it runs blue onto white ..eep! The step of prewashing can be done quickly and then you are ready to rock and roll.

Many of you have joined me at my quilt group on Facebook called Quilt with Pat Sloan. We are sharing our Globetrotting blocks and MUCH MORE! Everyone has been showing the quilts they are working on, asking for help and advice, and having more fun than you can have at any spot on Facebook.. so join me by clicking the link above.

We have a Flickr page for sharing photos. Click the link below to go to the group page and become a group member for free, then you will be able to upload pictures of your own materials selections and the blocks that you create throughout the BOM.
